With the rise of digital platforms, monetizing a website has become a popular way for website owners to generate revenue, and one effective method is by selling ad space directly to advertisers. This not only creates an additional income stream but also allows for more control over the types of ads displayed on your site.
In our latest version 2.0.86, we have added this feature to enhance ad setup capabilities. WP Quads, a versatile WordPress plugin, simplifies the management and display of ads, making it easier to oversee ad placements and performance. In this tutorial, we will provide a step-by-step guide to setting up sellable ads in WP Quads.
- To install and activate the WP Quads plugin, click on this https://wordpress.org/plugins/quick-adsense-reloaded/
- Once the installation is complete, you will see a dashboard with a ‘Create Ad’ option. Click on that.
- The Ads dashboard will appear. Click on ‘Ad Space,’ and a new window will open where you can set up ad space for sale on your website. Complete the settings according to your preferences.
- Write a message in the ‘Ad Space Text‘ field according to your preference. For example, you could use ‘Advertise in this space‘ or ‘Contact us to use this space for your ad.‘
- Next, set the ‘Ad Cost per Day‘ option based on your preferred rate. You can also customize the currency by selecting the option under ‘Adsell Settings‘ to match your needs.
- Once you’ve completed your setup and published your ad, you’ll see a message saying ‘Your ad is live‘ and an option to return to the dashboard. This confirms that your ad space is active. On the dashboard, a shortcode will also be available, which you can copy and paste anywhere on your website to display this ad whenever needed.
- After copying the code, go to your post and click on ‘Edit.’ Add the shortcode to your post and publish it. The ad will then become visible on your website.
- Now, click on ‘Advertise Here,’ and it will redirect the user to a page where they can fill in their details. Here, the user can select the price, choose the date, add an ad link (if available), upload an image (if they have one), and then click on ‘Submit. (Note: If you are already logged in, you don’t need to enter your username and email address as they will be automatically fetched.)
- Once user click on submit it will redirect to payment option.
- Once the user submits their details and payment, the website owner will receive a notification with options to ‘Approve‘ or ‘Deny’. The owner can review the user’s ad and decide whether to approve it or not.
After approval, the ad will be visible for the selected dates. Once an ad has expired or is about to expire, the user will receive a notification via their registered email.
This option is available to all users by default and is enabled upon activation. Additionally, an ‘Buy Adspace’ page is automatically created.
Some users may find this bothersome, but you can easily disable the option and delete the page manually. Follow the steps below to remove it.
- Go to the settings and disable “Sellable ads” option.
- Click on “Trash” and it will be delete from your pages.
